Frequently asked questions

What are the costs?
Every project is bespoke and unique so there is no 'one-size-fits-all' pricing structure. Our costs are extremely competitive and we'll quote every project individually to ensure you're always getting the best value for money.

What if I'm not local?
This is not a problem. We work with clients from all over the UK and even overseas. We'll keep in touch with you at every stage via email, Skype, phone (or whatever your preference). We can send regular photo updates so you have full oversight of our progress. Our completed projects can be signed off from photographs or virtual meetings - but clients are always welcome to travel to our studio for a face to face inspection.

What information do you need to supply a quotation?
We understand that full info may not be available at the early stages of a project. We can provide a rough costing based on quite limited information, but for a full fixed quotation we'd need the following as a minimum:

- Project brief including an indication of size, scale or degree of interaction required;

- Proposed CAD drawings - building elevations and floor plans;

- Landscape drawings - engineering drawings including level changes;

- Materials and planting schedules;

- Proposed delivery timescales.

How long is a quotation valid for?
Our quotations are valid for three months.

How long does a model take to build?
Delivery timescales are always indicated at the quotation stage. We will always deliver a project within the agreed timescale as long as no major changes arise during the construction phase. Each project is different and will vary in timescale but we will aways work with you to ensure you get the finished product just when you need it.

What scale or size should I consider for my project?
The terms 'size' and 'scale' mean different things in a model making context. The size of a model will relate to the overall dimensions of the finished model. The scale of a model describes the difference in the size of the miniature to the real life object.

When developing a project brief and considering scale it is important to take into account any size limitations of where the model will be situated (or it it needs to be portable) and the level of detail you wish to convey with the finished product. As an example, a 200 plot housing model often works best at 1:200 scale - whereas a single apartment building would look good at 1:75.

How will the model be delivered?
Delivery options can vary, but models are typically delivered to site by our staff to ensure they are correctly handled and properly set up for you. Delivery costs are usually included within our fixed quotation.

Do you repair or update models which have not been made by Infinite Arch?
Yes. We are sometimes asked to clean, repair or update models made by other companies. Please contact us for a quotation regarding any work on an existing model.

Will the model include a base or stand?
This depends on your brief. We can provide a bespoke base or stand for our models. We are also sometimes asked to liaise with our client's own marketing suite outfitters to utilise a base supplied by them. Either option can easily be catered for.

Do you supply a cover for your models?
Yes. We can supply a clear acrylic cover with our models. This can be a full case or just side screens depending on your brief. A case or screen is always recommended to protect the model from damage.
